Happy Earth Day! ⭐️

Last week I went on THE most beautiful mindful walk with the amazing @surreyhillswellness👭 who I’m beyond grateful to have met and so pleased she has come into my life. I learnt so much on this walk, I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on! I was taught to reflect on how astonishing our planet is🏔We are so amerced in to do lists, laptops, iPhones, computers, deadlines and achieving📑. We often forget to pause and look around👀and appreciate nature. We can become so amerced in this modern existence we loose our connection with nature 🌱@surreyhillswellness taught me how to connect with nature and be greatful💓, our planet is so fragile and precious🍂. Ati taught me to pay attention to the swirling white clouds, bird songs, the texture of each tree🌳, how each tree makes you feel- ROOTED!🎍 The meandering river was around us💧, the wonderful elements of nature were around us! One exercise I was asked was to close my eyes and listen to the song birds, and recognise this came from this beautiful planet we are living in, let everything go 💫and just be at one with nature🙏🏻.🧓🏼 Albert Einstein said there are two ways to live... 1️⃣as if nothing was a miracle or 2️⃣as if everything was a miracle. 💓Now appreciate everything you do, every drop of water you take, every emerald of food you take🥄 and the beautiful people you choose to surround yourself with👭👬find sometime today to connect with this planet🌎. Every blade of grass🌱, chirps of the birds🐥, and drops of rain💙& smells of nature. Allow your breathe to slow and your gaze to deepen. 😚Ati taught me I am not a visitor, I am a citizen to this beautiful earth; (I am not a human doing, I am a human being).

Hot cross buns

Dough
⭐️2 tsp dried active yeast
🍁1 tbsp maple syrup
💦110 ml lukewarm water
🥛160 ml room lukewarm oat milk
🥥80 ml softened coconut oil
💓1/2 tsp Himalayan rock salt
🥄BNUTZ vanilla and macadamia nut butter ☄️2 tsp ground cinnamon
🍂1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

🐎The grand nationals on the weekend sure did hit a sore spot 😌! It also made me think back to the horse scandal in 2013, remember that uproar that caused❗️ Not just in Europe but around the world. Corrupt practices and the reduction in regulation and inspection within the international meat trade resulted in horse meat being found in dozen of food products🤭. I remember the lasagne being a big one, oh along with children’s school meals🍝. I just didn’t understand the ignorance behind the uproar, horse meat is very similar to beef and the meat itself is not harmful, but there are many ethical issues around eating horse meat🐎.
This is because many horses that end up in the food chain were originally pets or bred for racing🤗. If they aren’t up to scratch in terms of racing then they effectively they are sold at low prices and ultimately become attractive to be bought and processed as meat🥉💰. 👭I used to ride horses when I was younger, a best friend of mine had horses, I pretty much lived at her house at one stage so developed a close relationship with her dear horse (Skye), I can now vouch that horses are very sensitive, emotional and intuitive animals🌸💫💓.
Many horses pass into the meat trade and can spend days in trailers with no food or water. 📑Interestingly, research has shown that people who consume horse meat are at a high risk of being exposed to phenylbutazone💉, also known as bute: a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug used regularly in domestic horses and racehorses. 💊Thus, there is a danger to human health as if these meds coincide with paracetamol then it can result in liver damage. Why the uproar about eating horse meat being morally unjust, surely beef is just as bad 🤷🏽‍♀️! Be safe and opt for a bnutz nut roast-recipe on the blog 🔆

🤯Procrastination: a universal human problem, we can all struggle to get moving on important tasks. Important projects such as launching that website, writing that cv, sorting out the insurance to your car, sorting the bills, filling/recording invoices🧾 and working towards work related deadlines📆. Tasks like these can bring up emotions like anxiety and fear😬. Procrastination is a coping mechanism, it comes into play to help you deal with these emotions/avoid them😕. If we avoid submitting an essay then we don’t have to deal with the strong emotions, leading our mood to improve and we feel short term relief👌🏻. Although, the avoidance can damage our reputation, hurt our self esteem, harm relationships and cause us not strive. We can become our own worst enemy🦶🏼.

🕉Mindfulness can help with combatting procrastination. Awareness and self control can help us. A tool I’ve learnt which helps me to prevent procrastinating is, when I notice that feeling of anxiety or feeling of being overwhelmed is to notice the resistance-the urge occurring to reach for a distraction. I look at the short term relief and weigh up if it’s worth the sacrifice. Perhaps your dreading the boredom that tasks brings(taxes), perhaps your fearing failure that the task could potentially bring. Does the short term relief outweigh the delayed outcome❓Set a good reward once you achieve the task! Incentives can help drastically with our motivation! Today once I sort my paperwork out then I am reward myself to an amazing weekend away with the girls 👭👭.

Keep focused on the present moment🤩. Write a list and keep pulling yourself back and reject temptation.
Starve your distractions, feed your focus.
